What is Milly J up to?





I always said, one day Milly J will be in a position to knock on the door of Theo Paphitis and footwear buyers with a strong business model. Taking me out of the equation if need be and still having a solid business.


The day is drawing closer everyday and I am thrilled to say, Milly J's Shoes is certainly moving forward through commercial awareness, ingenuity and strength.


All will be revealed when the time is right... but for now, I shall keep you guessing.

Well! Last week saw me asking for votes for the Footwear Industry Awards and this week...
Sees me short listed for 4 industry gongs! After only just over one year in operation and all work done solely by myself, this is some major New Year's gift for me! Though I'll need to upstage the footwear for the night!
I will hopefully be at the awards ceremony and see some of you industry professionals there.

Museum Debut Snippet for non exclusive members

Dear Milly J Peepers This is not another shoe reveal, but sharing the wonderful evening had for the museum launch. Milly J's Shoes has been going for just a year now, and so it was an honour to be invited by one of the world's top 2 shoe museums, Northampton Art Gallery and and Shoe Museum to exhibit some of my shoes. The museum houses many a shoe by the likes of the shoe greats, including, Westwood, Kobi Levi, Louboutin and many more.


The exhibition kicked off on the 20th November and was opened by all round good guy and an avid Milly J's Shoes supporter, Bret

The museum was handed their very own Milly J sculptural shoe for their very own museum collection, the Tap Shoe. Do please keep a look out for this spectacular shoe in your exclusive email updates. If you find the time, the museum runs until the 06th January 2013. In the meantime, please enjoy a selection of pictures of my shoes on display. Pictures courtesy of Adam Hobden.

Likened to Louboutin and Grayson Perry, I am in the industry know as, The Shoe Artist
 
 
It has all been rather exciting in the Milly J studio recently. So much news to reveal and so much news yet to be revealed. Yesterday however saw my twitter followers soar and my phone ring off the hook! For it was indeed the appearance of notorious celebrity, Jodie Marsh on ITV This Morning today wearing a beautiful dress from topshop, and her very own Milly J's Shoes!
 
Muscling in for a cup of tea
 
Thousands watched as Jodie Marsh chatted openly about her struggles with bullying and her recent body building endeavours. Though it has to be said that both Phil and Holly the presenters couldn't keep glimpsing at the obviously outlandish shoes! Though Jodie needless to say more than pulled them off. Shining away with hand painted ceramics and towering on 5 inch heels! A sight to behold. She was later paparazz-ied outside the ITV studios by big bad pap, Darren! Causing a stir. MTV style has now written an article, as has the Daily mail and The Sun. More to come, as both Jodie Marsh and others want to get their hands on the next Milly J's Shoe. Catch you soon... Milly J x

We all know that people will plot for a shoe, they'll scrimp and they'll save for that magnificent two. Though what happens when that shoe is produced into art, made just for you and will enamour your heart? Look past the Shoe that is used for your feet, that functional pair within that boutique. Look past the shoe so flat and so tame, the pair that is purely for practical gain. I have a persuasion so viciously keen, displays for events that are fit for a queen. Branding or weddings or shop window displays, to mark your occasion in unusual ways. Hand made from scratch and imagined by me, sculptural displays at a personalised fee. Shoe bouquets for events filled with flowers galore, on top of tall plinths or lined stylishly on the floor. Shoe displays with your labels, so skilfully made. A memorable treat to rent or be paid. Or that exceptional gift made just for her, that personalised feel for her delicate lure. Look past a shoe as being just that, for I see a Shoe as a means for a chat. A canvas for me, as is paper and pride. That specially created theme with your guide. Shoes with real wings and birds of great flight, creations infused, a shoe as a light? Newborn designs that look like a buggy, you can advertise right here for your new range of Huggies. If art mimics life and life mimics art, allow my creations to woo from the start.
